Welcome, I’m glad you’re here
I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP).
As an integrative counsellor I draw on a number of therapeutic techniques, including two core modalities: Person-Centred and Gestalt therapy. Both are humanistic, meaning that you are at the heart of our work together. Your needs, your pace, and what you choose to bring to each session.
Drawing from Gestalt therapy I focus on the here-and-now whilst also exploring how past experiences may be shaping your thoughts, feelings, and patterns today. Together, we’ll explore these influences to help you gain greater self-awareness and a deeper understanding of yourself.
My specialist areas of interest are anxiety, grief and how past traumas are impacting clients today. Unpacking and exploring the ways in which we are being impacted by past traumas in a safe environment helps us to build self-awareness and resilience in our day-to-day lives. Almost 4 out of every 10 women report feeling high-levels of anxiety – an endemic in our society. We experience this anxiety in our bodies, a physical symptom with a root in the mind. Often indicating the need to delve deeper, unearthing the drivers that underpin these sensations.
I am continuing to study and expand my knowledge of the way trauma drives anxiety impacting the mind and body, and, how as a therapist I can support people to unlock and alleviate these feelings.
I offer my time as a therapist for a bereavement charity – there I have learned first-hand that grief manifests differently for all of us; and that bereavement can be driven by more than just the loss of a loved one.
I know from experience the changes, challenges, and adjustments that life transition can bring. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over a decade working in the corporate sector. This experience gave me valuable insight into the pressures of managing a career alongside family life, and the impact this can have on mental-health and well-being.
My aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore openly, feel truly heard, and begin to make sense of what matters most to you.
